Happy Birthday, NPS!

Happy 104th birthday to the National Park Service! REMC has had the distinct honor to work with the NPS over the years, and we appreciate all the work they do to preserve our great outdoors. This past April, REMC had the rare opportunity to work in Joshua Tree National Park while it was closed to the public; it is home to the desert tortoise, the Mojave green rattlesnake, and countless other rare species. Under the supervision of an NPS archaeologist, REMC excavated 4 cubic yards of mill tailings using only hand tools to preserve buried Native American cultural artifacts. Getting to work in such a beautiful and historic location like Joshua Tree is always a reward in and of itself, and we want to thank the NPS for making that possible.
